About the Conference

A scholarly conversation on what translation leaves unsaid.

Hosted by the Department of Translation, College of Arts, Al-Noor University — Mosul, Iraq.

The 2nd International Conference titled "Shadows of Unspoken Meaning in Translation" brings together researchers, translators, and academics from around the world to examine the layered, often invisible, dimensions of the translation act.

Held over two days at Al-Noor University in Nineveh, the conference is international in scope and scientific in specialization, with sessions delivered in English, French, Spanish, Russian, and Turkish.

Conference Objectives

Analyze the philosophical and ethical dimensions of identity and creativity in translation practice.
Investigate mechanisms for handling hidden meanings and contextual implications in literary texts.
Define the epistemological boundaries between objectivity and subjectivity in linguistic transfer.
Examine the impact of globalization and modern communication on cultural specificity of terminology.
Address cultural challenges and linguistic pitfalls in contemporary communication environments.
Expand translation horizons to non-verbal systems such as body language and implicit meaning.
Develop critical strategies to confront the issues of the 'unspoken' in cross-cultural exchange.
